About Maria Julia
I am Brazilian, graduated in Economics from the University of São Paulo and came to Bogotá to do a masters in Interdisciplinary Studies about Development at the Universidad de Los Andes. I offer Portuguese classes both for people interested in learning the language informally, for traveling or cultural interests, and for those who are applying Celpe and are looking for more formal learning.

My method depends on the goal of the student. First, I talk with the person interested in the class to understand why he or she wants to learn Portuguese and, then, I define the most appropriate method. For those who want to learn Portuguese to travel, I offer more informal classes, with a lot of conversation and focused on vocabulary useful for travelers. For those who want to apply for Celpe, we will follow the recommended books according to the student's level. In both cases, I also teach about Brazilian culture, using Brazilian literature and national music.
