While introducing any new topic, build on their previous knowledge.... that is -link the topic with something that they already know.
2. Give everyday examples or some illustrations, so as to make them understand the concept....
3. Add humor related to the topic...it makes the topic attractive, and maintains their attention....
4. Repeatedly emphasis the important points.
5. Keep the lecture interactive. Ask them questions that stimulates critical thinking.
