About Shaye
I have been tutoring for 8 years, and know quite a bit about what students who struggle with math go through. It can be as hard as learning a new language.
Several years ago I was in a foreign country learning a foreign language with nobody to really help me, so I can put myself in their shoes within this context.
More importantly, I have found that the strategies I learned to help me become fluent; to where I now tutor in that language, are the same strategies to help someone learn Math.

As a tutor my first point is to get to know each student and find out 2 things:
Where they are currently at
Where they want to be
The SAT/ACT tests can be stressful for students and so my approach is according to the pace of each student and their goals.
As someone who scored in the 99th percentile I have found that repetition of the same-type problem is the quickest road to getting higher scores. I utilize this in my tutoring method and have helped students drastically improve their scores.
