About Ben
I’m a second-year Engineering student at the University of Cambridge with a strong academic background in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science (all A/A* at A-level and 12 GCSE Grade 9s). My degree involves intensive problem-solving across mechanics, structures, electronics, thermofluids and advanced mathematics, which directly supports the subjects I teach. Alongside my studies, I’ve led engineering teams at Cambridge University Spaceflight and completed a mechanical/aerospace internship at SuperSharp Space Systems, where I worked on real satellite hardware and developed automation tools. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly, think logically under pressure, and help students build confidence through structured reasoning. I’m patient, organised and genuinely enjoy helping students turn difficult topics into something intuitive and manageable. I work well with motivated GCSE and A-level students who want to improve their understanding, develop strong exam technique, and achieve top grades.

Techniques and teaching methodology: I focus on building real understanding rather than memorisation. I break down complex ideas into clear, intuitive steps, use exam-style problems from the start, and teach students how to structure answers for maximum marks. I also tailor sessions to each student’s syllabus and learning style, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and exam technique. Typical length of a lesson: Most lessons are 60 minutes, with 90-minute sessions available for exam preparation or topic deep-dives. Qualifications/experience: I’m an Engineering student at the University of Cambridge with strong A-level results in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students, helping them improve confidence, method, and exam performance.
