I approach English Literature teaching with an emphasis on close analysis. I believe the students excel when reading from the text outwards and developing strong skills of detailed reading always stands a student in good stead throughout their course. I compliment my lessons with contextual (historical, sociological) teaching and allow myself to be lead, in part, by a student's curiosity. The study of literature should be about the pleasure of reading as well as the satisfaction of analysis.
I am a recent graduate at Cambridge University in English Literature. I achieved 3 A*s at A Level (English, History, Mathematics) and am familiar with the A Level curriculum. I am comfortable teaching specific texts or general analytical and critical skills.
Before I was at university, I taught for six months in a school in Nepal, from ages 6 to 18. I covered all subjects of the curriculum, and also set up an extra-curricular reading group and a drama club. During this time, I helped students through their end of term exams, achieving a 100% pass rate.

I am a recent Cambridge graduate in English literature with teaching experience between ages 6 to 18. I am able to teach any subject up to age 14, and specialise in humanities subjects (English, History etc.) from GCSE upwards. I have a passion for English literature, film and art, and have developed strong writing skills in a number of formats. I would also be happy to assist in university applications and personal statements.
I am happy to adapt to whatever a student needs, whether that be help with the requirements of an exam, a general understanding of a topic, or specific help with a piece of work. I have a broad range of reference and would be happy to offer wider-reading and alternative approaches to a subject if a student is enthusiastic. In general, I value hard work and good preparation in teaching, as well as encouraging open discussion in the classroom.
Seth is really friendly and helpful. He's very knowledgable reguarding English literature, and really good at helping you figure out how to write more structured and effective essays. I would highly recommend him!
I have been a student of Seth’s and would highly recommend him. He is extremely capable in his subject as his university degree and his own qualifications demonstrate, but he is also understanding and empathetic in his teaching style. He makes the lessons fun while always supporting academic progress and general confidence
Seth is very clever but he's great at explaining things in ways that make it easy to understand. He also has a great sense of humour.
Seth is a fantastic teacher with a big emphasis on fun and progress. He's patient, kind and highly knowledgeable. Nice guy, would highly recommend!
