About Ioan
I'm a master's graduate in Classics from Cambridge and a graduate of the Accademia Vivarium Novum in Rome where I honed my Latin and Ancient Greek skills through 3 years of complete immersion. I have 6 years of teaching experience, including in living Latin and Greek. I'm an avid language learner myself and love sharing my enthusiasm with others. In my own studies I specialise in ancient Greek music and in Latin and Ancient Greek pronunciation and didactics.

I teach Latin and Ancient Greek using the target language actively in class from the first lesson (nothing to be afraid of, I promise!), according to the method I learnt at the Accademia Vivarium Novum, which is widely regarded as the most effective way to teach classical languages. A typical lesson lasts 1 or 1.5 hours. The main textbooks are "LLPSI: Familia Romana" for Latin and "Athenaze" (Italian edition) for Greek, but I will also bring in additional material, including original texts, on a regular basis. I have experience teaching students of any age from secondary school onwards and of any level.
