My teaching technique is not just to teach a student how to work out the answer, but to analyse why they are using the method they are using; I think that this approach enables the student to have a deeper understanding of the mechanics involved, thus meaning they remember the Maths better.
I would begin by reviewing specific areas a student would need help with so that we could have some focus, then I would teach the content in an understandable way using past papers to assist learning.
Having had and passed a Cambridge Maths interview, in addition to tutoring A-Levels and GCSEs, I can provide preparation and training for Oxbridge interviews and also give mock interviews and feedback. These interviews would take place in two stages; first the actual interview which is 25 minutes long and would comprise of mainly maths questions, and second I would give constructive feedback about the interview with tips on how to improve.
I am available to teach GCSE and A-Level Maths this summer, as well as offering tutoring for Oxbridge interviews, having successfully been through the process myself.
I am currently studying for a Masters in Mathematics at Cambridge University, recently achieving a high 2.i in my Bachelors Degree for Mathematics. At college I gained two A*s in A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, achieving scores of 98.3% and 97.3% respectively demonstrating my ability to understand the more subtle parts of the courses.
I have always had a strong passion for Mathematics and for teaching. My brother has just finished his Maths and Further Maths A-Levels and I spent time assisting him, so I have a strong knowledge of the current content on the A-Level and GCSE curriculum.
