About Alastair
I have engaged in outreach programmes for the past fours years, working with school groups to run workshops about studying history at A-level and University. These have served to broaden access efforts to top-class universities and have equipped me with knowledge of the Oxbridge application and interview process.
Previous students have worked with me at both GCSE and A-Level for tuition in English Language, English Literature and History. These students have all achieved their target grades with the majority exceeding their predictions, having worked with me on their exam technique and written style.

Individual and small-group teaching functions best where an open dialogue exists between tutor and student.
It is vital that students are given freedom to conduct their own research tasks and write up their findings to form ideas in their mind. I will direct you towards key resources and conduct a session of research methods before giving you the opportunity to present your findings in brief essays which will form the basis of our discussions.
There's nothing better than an enthusiastic and informed discussion and I hope that our work together will equip you with greater topical and methodological knowledge to expand your skills!
