About James
I'm a Cambridge graduate, 27, from Ireland, offering in-person science tutoring in Cambridge. I have a deep interest in biology in particular, and a thorough grounding in chemistry and physics. I'm applying for a PGCE in Biology this year, and I'm looking forward to building experience working with students one-to-one in the meantime. I like making the sciences interesting, so that they're easier to want to learn, and challenging people who are already interested.

I prefer to help students understand the actual background and fundamentals of a subject before focusing on the particular details of specific mark schemes, but when needed, I can do exactly that. I like to understand how a student thinks and adapt to that, rather than focusing on any single approach.
I have ADHD, and learnt how to perform well in exams in spite of that. I welcome the chance to help students who otherwise struggle to engage with a topic.
I have a thorough understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as exams. I won my school's prizes for science and mathematics at A2 Level, Year 13 prizes in chemistry, mathematics and biology, and the cup for 'Best Overall Performance in School' at GCSE level.
I can teach in lesson lengths that suit you, ideally an hour or more. I tutor GCSE and A-Level biology, chemistry, and physics.
