About Thomas
Hi there, I’m available to tutor in the Durham / Newcastle areas, particularly around Durham. I studied Engineering at Cambridge University so I would say Physics and Maths are my specialties, and I can certainly tutor those at GCSE level and higher. I have taught myself a wide variety of Computer Science principles over the last few years - so could definitely help with that too.

Typically, I will start a lesson with a thought exercise / brainteaser to get the student thinking - I like this because it lets us appreciate the subject for what it is, instead of going straight into homework / exam related work. After that, I plan to work through the exercises that the student has been set or needs to tackle. Any areas of weakness are no problem, we will just spend a little more time on those. Closer to exam time, I plan to spend the session practising exam techniques. This is just a general plan that I have for my lessons - if you would like me to focus on anything else please let me know.
