About Etienne
I have been giving IsiZulu( FAL) lessons,(the last 3 years) to Grade 6, 7 and 8 learners privately on a part time basis.
I am a materials developer/writer/editor and proofreader of note.
I have achieved great results with my IsiZulu( FAL) learners.

My teaching success is that I use a lot of pictures, games, flashcards, and U tube videos/mp3 in teaching IsiZulu first additional language and assesses each learner on a continuous basis. Using repetition, visual affirmation listening to each learner's pronunciation of the IsiZulu words, by recording all oral exercises and letting them listen to their recordings and pronunciation of each word. Learning through trial and error. Get them to evaluate them themselves. Writing and reading are done in a fun way using appropriate photo's/pictures and artwork. The learning of a new language must be done in natural manner without needing to teach them formal grammar and to have a rigid approach to it. Group and pair work is of an absolute necessity.
