About Janina
I love traveling and throughout my life, I have visited many parts of the world. There is no better way to get to know foreign people than simply talking to them directly. This is why when in Mexico, for instance, I used public transit rather than taxis, which would allow me to mix with the Mexicans, ask them how to get to wherever I was going, and so on. Some would correct my phrases, I would repeat the correct version and so you have it, your direct method.

I have taught young and old, including military or postgraduate students. I have 30 years of experience under my belt. In my direct method I do not allow translation but instead work towards understanding or comprehension of the English verse. My non-English speaking students must first repeat words and/or expressions in English. Next step is understanding followed by reading and writing. Comprehension part is usually quite funny and requires a bit of gesticulation or role playing.
