About Joseph
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the final year of completing my doctoral thesis on Article III judicial power and administrative courts. I hold an MA in Politics and Public Law from New York University and a BA in Political Science from Columbia University.
I have conducted extensive research in the discipline focused primarily on American Political Institutions, constitutional law, the Judicial branch, and comparative judicial systems. I have delivered several presentations on the role of the courts, the necessity of an independent judiciary, the First Amendment, and the importance of the separation of powers in government. In addition, I have served as Associate Editor for an academic journal and authored several research theses in the American Politics and Public Law subfields.

I teach primarily through a discussion or conversational model. Similar to the Socratic method, it is more informal to open up the conversation to gain a broad understanding of the subject before getting into the more nuanced aspects of the topic.
As a tutor, I try to be friendly and approach each student as a peer. I will ask questions to understand what specific needs the student wants to address and dive into the necessary material. This can be compared to a collaborative study group exercise where we focus on the most relevant information and branch out as necessary to grasp the topic thoroughly.
Since my subject matter expertise is in political science, American government, and constitutional law, my lessons are open to undergraduate, graduate-level (MA), and 1L law students. Students studying for the AP Government exam are also welcome to contact me for tutoring.
