About Callie
I am a committed violin tutor with 10+ years of experience, having guided around 300 students across different levels, including high school students, college learners, and adults. My teaching philosophy is based on consistency, clear instruction, and steady improvement, as I believe these are key to success in music learning.
I focus on building a strong foundation by teaching posture, bowing technique, finger positioning, and tone clarity. I also include exercises and songs that make lessons engaging and easy to follow. I guide students on how to practise effectively so they can improve outside of lessons.
One of my proud achievements is helping students perform with confidence and develop a lasting interest in violin. My aim is to create a positive and motivating learning experience.

My violin teaching methodology combines communication, flexibility, and practical learning experiences. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, abilities, and goals to ensure both technical and expressive skills are developed effectively.
I focus on posture, bowing, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and expressive playing while fostering creativity and personal interpretation. I use real-life examples such as performing favourite songs, preparing for recitals, and understanding music’s emotional aspects to make lessons meaningful.
In addition to violin, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My aim is to create a structured, inspiring, and supportive environment where students gain confidence, progress steadily, and develop a lifelong love for music.
