About Mia
I am a student at UMass Amherst that has maintained cello as an extracurricular activity from a young age. Cello has been instrumental to my growth as a person and I love encouraging this passion in others to give back to the musical community. I have engaged in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings as well as having experience auditioning live and recording myself.

After discussing my students' skills and desired goals (auditions, pieces, areas of improvement) from taking lessons, I take the time to select pieces of music to suit their needs. Finding interesting and diverse repertoire is an important step in developing musical passion. Following this I will work through and assign a variety of technical exercises, weekly working through these as well as main pieces with constructive criticism. Following preparation I can assist with video recording or setting up concerts. I am looking to teach beginner to intermediate students at any age.
