About Shoshanah
I’m a passionate cello teacher and performer currently pursuing my Master’s in Cello Performance with a minor in Teaching Artistry at the New England Conservatory. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and have been teaching since 2018. My teaching experience includes private lessons, group instruction, classroom teaching, and chamber coaching in both school and community settings. I currently teach at Somerville High School, Immigrant Family Services Institute, and serve as a teaching artist with the Boston Chamber Music Society. In addition to teaching, I maintain an active performance career. I’ve performed with the LA Film Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Imagine Dragons, recorded at Warner Brothers Studios for the video game Starfield, and played in the Cleveland Browns Halftime Show with OPUS 216. I was also featured in the Art on the Mart installation in Chicago and regularly work as a session and event cellist. I love bringing this real-world experience into my teaching and sharing the joy of music with every student I work with.

My lessons are student-centered, supportive, and designed to meet each learner where they are. I work with students of all ages and experience levels, from young beginners to advanced players preparing for auditions. I emphasize strong technical foundations, musical expression, and creative exploration, all while fostering a positive, encouraging environment. Whether we're focusing on classical repertoire or other music the student loves, my goal is to help each student grow in confidence, skill, and enjoyment. Lessons are always adapted to fit the student's unique learning style and goals, and I strive to make each session both productive and inspiring.
