  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I developed my passion for music when I was quite young. I was always drawn to sounds and melodies, but everything changed the moment I picked up my favourite instrument for the first time. It felt incredibly natural, almost like discovering a new way to express myself. From then on, music became a central part of my life rather than just a hobby.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I’m especially drawn to music that has emotional depth and strong musical storytelling. I can listen to classical music, jazz, or even minimalist compositions on repeat without getting tired of them. Each listen reveals new layers—whether it’s a subtle harmony, phrasing, or rhythmic detail—which keeps the experience fresh every time.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

One of the most challenging yet rewarding courses I offer focuses on musical interpretation. Many students can learn the notes, but truly understanding how to shape a phrase, communicate emotion, and bring a piece to life is a completely different level. Helping a student transition from “playing notes” to “telling a story” is one of the most fascinating parts of teaching.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe the most complicated instruments are those that require a balance between technical precision and expressive control. Instruments where even the smallest variation in touch, timing, or tone can completely change the outcome are especially demanding. Mastery isn’t just about technique—it’s about control, sensitivity, and musical awareness.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Consistency is key. Regular, focused practice always leads to improvement over time. I also believe curiosity plays a huge role—asking questions, exploring new ideas, and staying open to learning. Finally, patience is essential, because real progress in music is a long-term journey.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

I’d choose the cellist Truls Mork, violinist Anne Sophie Mutter and Mischa Maisky who are technically brilliant but also deeply expressive and innovative. Conversations like that would go beyond music—they’d be about creativity, discipline, and the artistic journey.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

I remember once during a rehearsal, I completely lost my place in the music. Instead of stopping, I had to rely entirely on my ears to find my way back. That experience taught me one of the most valuable lessons in music: listening is just as important as playing. It changed the way I approach both practice and performance.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

What sets me apart is my attention to each student as an individual. I adapt my teaching methods to suit their goals, whether they are beginners or more advanced musicians. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to grow, make mistakes, and improve. I also provide clear structure, constructive feedback, and motivation—small details that make a big difference in long-term progress.
