About Payal
Teaching has always been a passion. After a six-year stint in journalism and event management, I decided to quit a wonderful job where I the held the position of the COO to pursue my passion. A brief experience of teaching underprivileged children at an NGO called U & I played a major part in making this big decision. I straightaway went ahead and did the CELTA at the British Council, Chennai, and have been working as an English Facilitator at an international school in Chennai called Chennai Public School Global.

I believe in making my classes student/learner-centric as far as possible. I try and build on the prior knowledge that my student has. Based on the knowledge he/she already has, I elicit further and build his/her knowledge bank. In my opinion, this not only makes learning effective but also builds confidence in the student. I understand my learner's needs/goals/aspirations/interests and plan my lessons around that.
