About Matthew

I'm Matthew Martone, a Pennsylvania-certified high school physics and astronomy teacher at Central Columbia High School. I work with students every day, from introductory physical science through AP Physics 1, 2, and C, and I love helping learners build real understanding of how the physical world works. My teaching is patient, structured, and focused on the underlying concepts, so students gain confidence and lasting skills, not just memorized formulas. I hold myself to high professional standards: clear communication, reliable scheduling, and sessions tailored to each student's goals.

I'm a Pennsylvania-certified physics teacher currently teaching high school physics at Central Columbia High School, where I work with students daily on everything from introductory physical science through AP Physics 1, 2, and C (Mechanics and E&M). Years in the classroom have shown me exactly where students get stuck — vector decomposition, free-body diagrams, multi-step energy and momentum problems — and I teach to the underlying concepts rather than formula memorization, because once the why clicks, the math follows. I also teach astronomy, which gives me a rich applied context for mechanics and gravitation that helps abstract ideas land. Whether a student is trying to pass their first physics course or earn a 5 on an AP exam, I tailor each session to how they learn and build from there.
