About Jiaxin
I am a native Mandarin speaker and trained History educator from China, now based in Central London. I hold an MSc in History from the University of Edinburgh, a Chinese State Senior High School Teacher Qualification Certificate and National Putonghua Proficiency Certification. I enjoy helping learners develop the confidence and pleasure of communicating in Mandarin, whether they are complete beginners, preparing for examinations or exploring Chinese culture. My teaching is patient, structured and adapted to each student’s pace. I aim to make every lesson encouraging, purposeful and academically rigorous.

Mandarin
I offer structured, engaging Mandarin lessons for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to GCSE, IB, A-Level and HSK preparation. Each 60-minute lesson is tailored to the learner’s goals and level. We build strong foundations in Pinyin, tones and pronunciation, then develop speaking, listening, reading and Chinese-character writing through guided practice and conversation. For younger learners and 7+/11+ preparation, I use age-appropriate stories, games and immersive activities. Exam students receive syllabus-focused teaching, grammar correction and past-paper practice. I am a native Mandarin speaker with PSC Level 2 Grade B, a Chinese State Senior High School Teacher Qualification Certificate and an MSc in History from the University of Edinburgh. Lessons are available online and in person in Central London.
