About Flora
I have a degree in Herbal Medicine and have the practical experience and confidence to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) - TEFL and TESOL certified. Over the years, I have offered English private classes to adults and taught English to children of varying ages in elementary schools. Originally, I am Italian. However, having always lived and studied abroad (Australia and England), English is my mother tongue.

In my experience, each student requires a different learning method. Each one of my lessons is tailored according to the needs, requests and language levels of the students. Learning a language has to be fun and rewarding, so I try to create a teaching approach that ensures the right balance between structure and creativity. During each lesson I make sure that the learning goals and objectives are clearly established with the students, in line with metacognitive methods, thus promoting student learning. I always encourage students to ask questions and try to stimulate reasoning through elaborate interrogation. Games, interactions, discussions and formative assessments are some of the methods used in my lessons.
