I specialise in GCSE and IGCSE( English Language and English Literature ), and A level(Language and Literature)
Experienced in teaching and tutoring for : AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and Cambridge exam boards under the new specifications.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I hold a BA ( Honours) degree from The London Institute, a CELTA qualification to teach English as an additional Language from The University of Cambridge and a PGCE in Secondary Education from The University of Plymouth.
- How much do you charge?
For one to one tuition , I charge £40 per hour for GCSE tuition face to face. I offer discounted rates for online tuition ( via Skype or Face Time) and for lessons booked advance in blocks.
- Where do you teach?
I am happy to come to pupils' homes or to tutor in a public space, (libraries, universities or quiet cafes work very well).
I tutor predominantly in central /South East but can travel anywhere to zone 6 ( I charge £10 to cover additional travel costs and travel time over one hour).
- When are you available?
I am available weekday evenings between 4:30pm and 7pm and additonal daytime slots for private candidates/ sixth form/ home schooled pupils
Half terms and school holidays I have availability for advanced bookings.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I specialise in GCSE tuition ( ages 14-16) at Key Stage 4 . I also provide A Level English Literature tuition ( coursework and examination preparation for ages 16-19) at Key stage 5.

- Do you have a personal message for students?
As a pupil it is imperative and valuable to have lessons which are stimulating and enjoyable regardless of whether English is your favourite subject. I break down examination techniques that are failproof and ensure guaranteed success on the day. I also use material that you can relate to which makes learning accessible, fruitful and productive. As a tutor, I am creative, clear and patient whilst providing you with a focused, up beat and well structured framework for your progress so that you know exactly what your academic destination and the journey to get there. I identify areas that need particular focus and build on existing stronger areas to maximise your academic potential. This removes any added stress or pressure; you will just feel inspired and driven to hit academic excellence!
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 11 years' teaching experience and have worked as a private tutor for four and a half years. Having worked in a wide profile of schools both in the UK and internationally and within the state, private and grammar sectors, I have aquired extensive experience and expertise to draw on as both a teacher and tutor.

Currently tutor a boy at Wilson Grammar school in year 10 who recently secured top grade in his year in his summer GCSE mock exams.
Intensive tuition for a Year 11 boy for his English language exams.: His predicted grade has increased from a grade 6 to a grade 8/9 since July.
Recently finished tutoring an international student taking EDEXCEL IGCSE . His most recent mock secured an 'A' grade for Paper 1 ( Reading and Writing).
A year 11 girl at the tuition centre where I also work has increased by two grades in her recent mock exams resulting in predicted GCSEs grades to 8/9 which are
required for sixth form entry.
