About Fredrik
Originally from Sweden, I earned my Master’s in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Computational Chemistry before moving to the United States, where I have lived and worked for over 20 years. My career spans prestigious institutions such as UCLA, Brown University, and Boston College, as well as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and several biotech companies. As a Teaching Professor at Boston College, I mentored hundreds of students across General, Physical, and Computational Chemistry.

My teaching approach centers on listening to students' needs and I believe discussions are absolutely pivotal for success.
I turn abstract concepts and equations into visual, hand-drawn molecular narratives. I use "chemical sketching"—scribbling chemical structures, equations, and chemical reactions —to help students "see and understand" Nature’s wonders and connect the submicroscopic world to tangible reality. I draw examples from my scientific career in computational chemistry.
