About Eric
I’m a friendly and patient tutor and I enjoy helping students make sense of subjects that can initially feel complicated.
My approach is centred around understanding. I don’t want students to feel that they simply have to memorise everything in Chemistry. I encourage them to ask questions, work through problems, and understand the reasoning behind what they are learning.
I’m particularly interested in helping students who have lost confidence because they’ve struggled with certain topics. I believe that with the right explanation and enough practice, difficult concepts can become much more manageable.
Whether you’re preparing for GCSE or A-Level Chemistry, catching up on missed topics, or simply looking to become more confident, I’ll work with you patiently and adapt lessons to your needs.

My lessons are focused on helping you understand Chemistry rather than simply memorising information for an exam.
We’ll start by looking at what you already understand and where you’re getting stuck. From there, I’ll break difficult ideas down into simple steps and use questions to make sure the understanding is actually there.
I also pay attention to the small gaps that can make later topics difficult. If something like balancing equations, rearranging formulae, mole calculations or understanding chemical bonding is holding you back, we’ll work on that foundation instead of simply moving past it.
Lessons are adapted to your level, school syllabus and goals. We can focus on learning new topics, catching up, preparing for exams, working through past-paper questions, or building confidence in areas you find difficult.
The goal is for you to leave each lesson not just knowing the answer, but understanding **why** the answer is correct and feeling more confident tackling the next question on your own.
