About Qi
I am a student currently studying Physics at UCL. Mandarin is my mother tongue while English falls closely behind. Having studied in a British international school in China, I have insights into the life of an international person in China (including cultural or language shocks) that may be useful for you to know if you are thinking of living there.

As a bilingual speaker, I understand the different method of thinking when speaking different languages. Despite the importance of grammar rules and spelling, I believe in the "sense of language" ( the same as phonics in English). This is achieved by maximising the student's exposure to this language. Hence, I will encourage students to learn and memorise the grammar rules and vocabulary on their own time. To achieve full efficiency in lessons I will focus on using the language ( writing/speaking/ listening) in lesson.
