MA Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London (Distinction)
- How much do you charge?
My current fees (September 2017) are £50.00 per session.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my house in Teddington where I have plenty of space, a Bechstein piano, and my library of books, scripts and scores. I live within easy reach of Richmond, Twickenham and Kingston-upon-Thames and am on a direct train line from London Waterloo (30 minutes).
- When are you available?
I teach during the daytimes and evenings from Monday to Fridayt and can usually offer some sessions during weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach Voice and Speech Skills, Public Speaking and Classical Singing at all levels. I teach adults and children (from age 8).
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare singing students for the ABRSM grade syllabus from the Prep Test to Diploma level.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching and coaching voice for twenty-five years working with singers and speakers on a one to one basis and in classes and workshops. I taught voice and speech skills to actors at The Poor School in London for six years and work with students from all walks of life in my private practice. I continue to perform regularly as a solo singer in the UK and internationally. I am particularly experienced in teaching choristers and young singers and working with the 'breaking' voice.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate updated on 01 December 2017
- Where and with whom did you train?
I trained as a classical singer at Trinity College of Music, London and undertook postgraduate vocal studies in Moscow with Professor Yevgenia Sheveliova. I trained as a voice teacher at the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I belong to the British Voice Association (BVA) and the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM)
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I teach a wide range of students from all walks of life. Past and present students include business people, journalists, teachers and academics, doctors, university students as well as singers and actors. I also teach a number of choristers from the Royal Chapels. Past students have won music exhibitions, university choral scholarships and gained drama school places.
