About Ellie
I have 11 years of teaching experience and a First Class Music BA from University of Bristol.
I started learning clarinet in primary school as I was drawn to its sound and appearance. I went on to achieve ABRSM grade 8 Merit and play clarinet in a number of orchestras and wind bands.
As a teenager I started learning the saxophone. I similarly loved its sound, versatility and jazzy appeal! I learnt formally to get ABRSM grade 5 Distinction and then just learned for fun after that, getting to play in many ensembles including big bands, wind bands and orchestras.
In my later teens I taught myself the flute. I think there is something magical about the sound of the flute that I love!
It feels like such a privilege for me to get to support people to learn instruments. I love seeing my students make progress and have the joy of music in their lives!
I have up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate.

Hi :) I'm Ellie (they/them). I teach clarinet, saxophone and flute to students of all ages (I'm a big believer that it's never too late to learn an instrument!).
All my lessons are tailored to you as an individual and I build our lessons around the styles of music that you like. That can be anything from classical to pop to jazz and beyond.
My teaching style is friendly and supportive. It's really important to me to create an environment where my students feel happy and relaxed when learning.
I support students working towards music exams if that's the path you'd like to take, and equally my students never need to take any exams. Lessons are tailored to the musical goals that are meaningful to you.
