About Alan
Hi! I'm Alan and I'm a Masters' Degree student in English Literature studying at Durham University. Last year I graduated from Durham University with a Bachelors' Degree in Classics. Unfortunately, I have not received my degree classification yet, but the vast majority of my work was graded at a first class level. This demonstrates my ability to understand and comprehend ideas and texts on various subject matters and communicate them fluently to markers, a quality which will be passed on to my students through my teaching.
Having experienced three years of intense study, and embarking on one more in the next year, I possess well-rehearsed skills in analysis and essay writing essential for anyone in need of assistance with arts subjects.

My approach to tutoring is adaptable to a student's needs. If a student requires tutoring on a certain text, I will go through critical parts, themes, contexts associated with a certain text so that the student will gain a deeper understanding of a text and be able to communicate their ideas more fluently in essays.
I have A levels in Classics (A*), Latin (A), and English Literature (A*), as well as a BA in Classics from Durham University.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A level students and will last between 45 minutes to an hour.
