I like to approach each lesson with a clear aim but an open mind as well. I like to plan a structured series of lessons based on the areas we need to cover however I believe that flexibility is key here. I am more than happy to go over additional material or re-visit a topic if the student feels that this is necessary. likewise, if a student does not like a certain exercise, I will talk to them and change things. communication is the most important thing, I will ensure that we cover the topics and I will endeavour do this in a way that engages the student. I always try to include the student's hobbies and interests into the lessons to make them more engaging. I include games and I often join in with the work, to help the student feel that we are learning together.
I am currently studying Classics at Royal Holloway University of London, where I am expanding my knowledge of Greek and Roman history. I studied French, Classics and English at A-level and have experience tutoring English Literature and Language. As someone who was tutored when completing my GCSEs I understand how to make the most out of a lesson. With a year of experience tutoring as well, I have developed listening skills and the ability to understand the student, treating them like an individual, which makes my lessons very personal. I tailor my lessons to suit the student, often incorporating their interests and hobbies into the work wherever possible, to make lessons more engaging and therefore more productive. I have a passion for my subjects and I would love the opportunity to pass this on to other students.
