About Jermaine
At the beginning and conclusion of every session, I recognize and acknowledge all of my student's efforts. I always show my appreciation for their time and dedication to pursue this endeavor of learning a new language. I firmly believe in establishing a professional rapport with my students. I let them know that I understand that it can be intimidating to learn a new language. But, I reassure each student that I will be there for them anytime if they have questions or concerns. I want my students to have confidence in my abilities as their teacher. My goal is to assist my students in this new journey and to make it a fun and enjoyable experience for them.

I know that there are many tutors to choose from. What sets me apart from other tutors is that I offer a patient and professional approach to learning English as a second language. I offer the opportunity for the student to decide what their goals are in learning English, determining the appropriate level of English they are starting from, and confirming the specifics in English that the student would like to specialize in.
I offer a flipped classroom approach. Meaning that I offer the student after an initial "get to know you" session, I offer homework assignments to practice at home. In our next session(and subsequent sessions), the time will be dedicated for the student to be able to practice what they have learned. I offer my input during the session as warranted. But, I give my best effort to ensuring the student has ample time to practice what they have learned.
