My Teaching Approach
As a Filipino/Tagalog tutor, my goal is to make learning the language simple, practical, and enjoyable. I believe that students learn best when lessons are connected to real-life situations and when they are encouraged to participate actively.
**Teaching Methods and Techniques**
I use a combination of discussion, examples, guided practice, question-and-answer activities, reading exercises, vocabulary building, and conversational practice. I also use Filipino stories, dialogues, everyday situations, and cultural examples to help students understand not only the language but also Filipino culture. I adjust my teaching style depending on the student's learning level, needs, and goals.
**Typical Lesson Plan**
A typical lesson begins with a short review of the previous topic, followed by an introduction to the new lesson. I explain the topic using simple examples and then allow the student to practice through activities, conversations, reading, or written exercises. At the end of the lesson, I review the key points and give a short activity or assessment to check the student's understanding.
**What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor**
What makes my approach different is my patience and willingness to adjust to each student's learning pace. I create a friendly and comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions and make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. I focus on practical Filipino that students can actually use in everyday conversations while also helping them develop proper grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills.
**Who My Lessons Are For**
My lessons are suitable for elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and college students who need help with Filipino/Tagalog. I can also assist beginners who want to learn basic Tagalog for communication and everyday conversations. Lessons can be adapted for students who need academic support, conversational practice, vocabulary development, grammar improvement, reading comprehension, or assistance with Filipino school subjects.
