About Beth
Hello, Ciao, Salut, Hola,
I am Beth and I am a university graduate with a combined languages degree in French, Spanish and Italian and I am happy to tutor all 3.
I love all things grammar and language and have been told my passion for the Latin languages is contagious!
I have studied politics in French at the university of Strasbourg and I have also studied translation at a specialist translation university in Forli. I studied for a TEFL qualification in Barcelona and taught English to children while living in Madrid.
I received oral distinctions in my degree and I use languages daily in my current job working in export.
My most recent student received full marks in her A level Spanish exams (both written and oral).
I have worked with children from 2 years old to 22 year old adults so I am used to adapting my style to suit different people.

I don't believe there is only one way to learn a language. In fact, I believe it is often better to mix things up a little.
For those lacking confidence in their speaking abilities, we could work around a topic you are interested in (cars, arts, singing, dancing, ANYTHING) and keep things light and fun. Working on a topic YOU find interesting will help the vocab stick and make the lesson more engaging.
Is grammar the area that needs a little polishing? We can find what helps you remember it - colouring coding, repetition, word association, a combination...
I can also give you tips for things you can do in your own time that doesn't really feel like studying. My personal favourite is watching Disney films in different languages! They often use simple sentence structures and if you know the English version, you'll have a rough idea of what they should be saying.
