About Jessica
Hi,
I am Jess, a qualified primary teacher who has worked in both the independent and state sector over the last 4 years.
I absolutely love teaching; seeing how a lesson sparks imagination, enthusiasm and enjoyment in a child is quite possibly one of the best feelings. When a child has grasped a new concept too, that makes it so rewarding.
I have tutored for the last 3 years and love the 1:1 this service offers. I tailor my teaching to the interests of the child and use many different resources, from games, books and iPads, to the great outdoors ( one instance stands out, which inspired writing through our senses). Using such a variety allows lessons to be interesting and engaging for the child.This consequently allows children to grasp concepts and enjoy the sessions as much as possible. I love planning for the sessions I run, and I always debrief with the parent on how the lesson went. I offer homework ( if they would like) and suggest any activities which can support the work we have done.
I have a Masters in Psychology, a PGCE and a BSc in Health and Lifestyle Management.
In my spare time I love baking, and running ( not at the same time...)
