About Orla
I started playing violin at the age of 5, and flute at 8, and moved up through the various ensembles in the City of Belfast School of Music, and the Junior Academy of Music, which is part of Queens University Belfast. I was in the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra for 3 years, and also played as part of the Ulster Youth Orchestra for 2 Summer courses. I am currently in my first year of university studying Architecture at Ulster University, but I am still carrying on with music through the Queens University Symphony Orchestra, as well as teaching music both privately and through being a teaching assistant at the Junior Academy of Music. I would like to take on more students and expand my experience of teaching both instruments and music theory.

I’d like to take on more students in either violin or flute, including beginner or in the lower grades. I would also be happy to teach theory if necessary. I usually teach music by playing a few bars of the music at a time, with my students repeating it back to me, which has proven very helpful to them. I am located in Belfast and would be happy to travel to students living near by, or through online lessons.
