About Tee
Hello! I'm a passionate and dedicated flute tutor with **17 years of playing experience** and a strong background in both performance and music education. Throughout my education, I achieved **A* grades in both Music Theory and Practical Music**, giving me a solid understanding of both the technical and expressive aspects of music.
As an experienced performer, I have been a member of both a **concert band** and a **district concert band**, where I developed valuable ensemble, sight-reading, and performance skills. I have also taken on the role of **lead musician**, strengthening my leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities while working with other musicians.
I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit individual goals, learning styles, and experience. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for music exams, joining a school band, or simply learning for enjoyment, I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build confidence and make steady progress.
My lessons focus on developing strong technique, musicality, and performance skills while ensuring that learning remains enjoyable and rewarding. I am patient, reliable, and committed to helping every student achieve their full potential, providing constructive feedback and practical advice to support progress both during lessons and through independent practice.
My goal is not only to help students become better flautists but also to inspire a lifelong love of music and the confidence to perform at their very best.

My teaching approach is centred around making flute lessons enjoyable, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual goals. Whether you are picking up the flute for the first time or looking to refine your technique, I adapt every lesson to suit your experience, learning style, and musical interests.
Lessons focus on developing strong fundamentals, including posture, breathing, embouchure, tone production, finger technique, rhythm, and music reading. As students progress, we work on musical expression, phrasing, articulation, dynamics, and performance skills through a variety of repertoire. I believe that building a solid technical foundation while playing music that students enjoy is the key to long-term progress and confidence.
A typical lesson lasts **60 minutes**, although I also offer 30- and 45-minute lessons for younger beginners or those who prefer shorter sessions. Each lesson includes warm-up exercises, technical development, repertoire, and personalised feedback, with practice strategies to help students continue improving between lessons.
I am passionate about music and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and motivating environment. I provide patient, constructive guidance and encourage students to learn at their own pace while continually challenging themselves to improve. My aim is to help every student develop confidence, strong musicianship, and a lifelong enjoyment of playing the flute.
My lessons are suitable for students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced players. Whether you are preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams, school performances, orchestra auditions, or simply learning for enjoyment, I will tailor each lesson to help you achieve your musical goals.
