My teaching method is fairly relaxed - our first intro session will comprise of a short assessment so I can get a sense of where the student is, and then a casual chat to establish what the student's own aims are. From there I'll establish a flexible tutoring plan that can be deviated from if the student feels like there are areas that need specific attention (e. g. specific texts or perhaps something they've struggled with in school). My approach is fairly straightforward, I will get the student writing essays at the earliest opportunity!
I have been tutoring for the last two years (one year with an agency), in which time I have supported several students through their English Literature and English Language GCSEs.
I have a BA in English Literature from Durham University and an MA in Contemporary Literature, Culture and Theory from King's College, London.
Cancellation Policy - no charge as long as the session is cancelled 24 hours in advance.
I have recently completed a Master of Arts in Contemporary Literature, Culture and Theory at King’s College London. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Durham. Durham gave me a rigorous grounding in traditional modes of literary analysis. I have worked as a private tutor for two years, as well as completing a course in editing and copywriting.
