About Hazel
Hello! My name's Hazel (Haruka in Japan), I am half Japanese and have therefore been speaking Japanese from a very early age. My family is from Hiroshima, which I try to visit on a yearly basis.
I am a recent Law LLB graduate from University College London, but have been offering Japanese lessons intermittently for several years at a beginner to intermediate level. I love helping non-native speakers to improve their skills and achieve their personal language goals! I can even teach you about the Hiroshima dialect :)

My initial lessons involve really getting to know my students as well as their speaking level, since everybody learns best through different approaches. Our sessions will be tailored around developing conversational abilities via mock scenarios, improving pronunciation and intonation etc. Content will also be explored with the context of your personal goals in mind, i.e. to travel in Japan, to understand TV shows without subtitles, to converse with friends etc.
I work with students at a vast range of stages, having started completely from scratch with some with basic phrases, as well as enhancing speaking skills with others who are already at a strong conversational level.
