About Duncan
My lessons cover Business, Economics, English, Philosophy, and the Humanities more broadly — subjects I'm equally at home moving between, since real understanding in any of these areas comes down to the same things: clear thinking, strong arguments, and the ability to connect ideas to the real world. With a background spanning PwC, executive search, and board-level advisory work, I bring practical, real-world context into business and economics lessons, while my interest in philosophy and the humanities shapes how I approach essay writing, critical thinking, and argument construction across English and humanities subjects too.
Each lesson is tailored to where the student actually is — whether that's building exam technique for GCSE/A-Level, working through a topic they're stuck on, developing stronger essay-writing and argumentation skills, or preparing for university applications, personal statements, or interviews. I focus on clear explanations, genuinely testing understanding rather than just covering content, and building real confidence along the way.
I'm happy running structured, exam-focused sessions in any of these subjects, or broader conversations around critical thinking, careers, and university choices — happy to shape lessons around whatever would help most.
