About Angela
I’ve been teaching piano in Manchester since 2004, privately and in schools. I have a Batchelor of Music degree (1st class hons), a Postgradute Diploma in Advanced Performance, (RNCM) and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education. In my teaching career I have taught in a range of settings, from Early Years through to Higher Education. I particularly enjoy teaching children and finding fun and creative ways to inspire this age-group. Also a mum to two children of my own, I am an experienced, reliable and caring teacher who you can trust.

In my piano lessons we learn music in a fun and interactive way that will inspire you to keep learning, and instil a lifelong love of music! I embrace a holistic style of teaching and pride myself on delivering well-planned lessons that ensure every pupil can succeed.
My lessons are enhanced with high quality resources, games and use of technology, but at the core we make lots of music. I teach a range of styles including classical, jazz contemporary. A typical lesson includes
:playing- from sheet music, improvising and composing
:technique work-so you can play with ease and expressiveness
:sightreading- I aim for my students to become confident, independent learners
:ensemble playing- teaching team-work and listening skills
:music theory- usually taught with fun games and hands-on activities
:ear-training: experiencing rhythm and pitch are fundamental skills
:music history and appreciation
I organise concerts for my pupils to perform in each year, and we use lots of challenges to keep motivation high and celebrate progress. Many of my students have gone on to achieve excellent examination results and won prizes in Music Festivals.
