Ed is one of our best Piano tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Ed

I have worked successfully as a piano teacher to children and adults over a number of years. I hold masters degrees in Music and Vocal Studies from the University of Cambridge and TrinityLaban Conservatoire respectively and have 15 years’ experience working as a professional choral musician mostly in London. I hold qualified classroom teacher status for Music and have worked as a visiting singing teacher at a leading Girls’ Grammar School and as an associate piano teach for Miele Canto Music School. This wide experience is reflected in my approach to teaching the piano and I am capable of supporting both progress at the instrument as well as wider musicianship. A hallmark of my teaching is my ability to enthuse and inspire and adapting my approach to consider individual needs and interests.

About the lesson

In our initial lesson I will take the opportunity to understand more about your goals and we will begin working on music of your choice or, if preferable, something I select for you. I welcome beginners, returns, and more advanced pianists, and draw on my vast and varied experience to offer something for anybody with a desire to learn the piano.

I teach at home but can also travel within reason. My availability is usually evenings Tuesday-Friday from 5.30 or, occasionally, at weekends by arrangement.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the students of Ed.

Ed tutors my son, who will be taking the English Language IGCSE exam privately.

Ed does a great job of identifying and tackling my son's challenges through a mix of assigned reading and exercises.

He is patient and well-organized, coming to sessions with a clear plan.

On top of that, my son enjoys his sessions and feels comfortable speaking up and participating, which is really important too.

I would highly recommend Ed as an English tutor.

Ed Bonner was a fantastic tutor. He helped me to exceed my target grade which was grade C at the start of year 11. The grades I finally achieved were two As. I can honestly say without his tutoring I could not have received the grades I had always aspired to get.
