About Calla
With 9 years of ESL tutoring experience and around 150 students taught, I focus on helping learners build strong and confident English skills. Teaching High School and College students has allowed me to understand different learning styles and create lessons that match each individual’s needs. My teaching philosophy is built on patience, personalized instruction, and practical learning.
I believe that learning a new language should not feel stressful, so I teach through simple explanations, step-by-step practice, and everyday English examples. I help students improve speaking, reading, writing, and listening by using meaningful activities that encourage real communication. One of my proudest achievements is seeing students who once struggled with English start to enjoy the subject. Many of them improved their test scores, performed better in writing tasks, and spoke with more confidence.
I use creative methods like real-life dialogues, short readings, writing projects, and vocabulary games to make learning enjoyable. I also work hard to create a supportive learning environment where students feel motivated and comfortable. I encourage them to practice regularly, believe in themselves, and take small steps toward big goals. My mission is to help them build a strong foundation that will support their school life and future opportunities.

My ESL teaching approach combines Communication, Flexibility, Creativity, Accountability, and Integrity. Communication helps students develop confidence, so I include conversation exercises, pronunciation training, and real-life speaking situations.
Flexibility helps me adapt to different learning needs. I design lessons for beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students. Along with ESL, I teach Reading Skills, School English, Writing Techniques, Grammar Foundation, and Vocabulary Expansion.
Creativity makes learning fun. I use games, stories, small projects, listening clips, and role-play activities that help students enjoy learning and remember new concepts.
Accountability supports long-term growth. I give progress updates, set clear goals, and provide short assignments that encourage responsibility.
Integrity ensures students feel safe and respected. I give honest feedback, encourage effort, and create a positive learning environment where mistakes are seen as part of growth.
This approach helps students improve fluency, clarity, grammar knowledge, reading ability, and writing skills in a comfortable and motivating atmosphere.
