About Laura
I am an undergraduate fourth year student studying a master's degree in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. In terms of academic achievements at university, alongside tutoring fellow students, I have so far been awarded the Deputy Principal's Award for Academic Excellence on two occasions.
Chemistry is one of my passions in life and I am keen to share the tips and tricks I have picked up so far in my chemistry career, to help others achieve the best possible level of understanding and competency in chemistry- whether that be an aspiring chemistry student, or a student who requires chemistry qualifications to pursue another career / area of study.
I am eager to debunk the idea that chemistry is an impossibly difficult subject, and rather help students understand what a wonderfully interesting subject it is and hopefully change their approach to make them feel more at ease while studying it.

Each of my lessons will be planned to cater for the specific needs of the individual student. The content covered in lessons will either be based upon concepts in chemistry that the student has struggled to grasp in general, or can be specifically related to whatever they need clarified that particular week.
I will aim to aid understanding by explaining topics and subject matter in depth- in more than one way if necessary- and will incorporate relevant exam style questions and quizzes into the lesson for us to work through together. I will also aim to revisit and revise concepts covered in previous lessons to establish whether we need to do some additional work before moving on.
