My teaching method is very simple.. speak, speak, speak. My lessons are targeted at GCSE or A Level students, of whatever level, and therefore I can follow the topic the student is covering in their classes and add an extra level of one-to-one speaking practice that they may not receive in school.
I am very patient and understand the struggles of learning a language as I have experienced this myself. Depending on ability, lessons do not have to be completely taught in the target language as this can sometimes be daunting. My approach is to make the student feel comfortable and relaxed and above all, to enjoy learning Spanish!
I have a Bachelors Degree in French and Spanish and am now studying a Masters in Audiovisual Translation with Spanish. I have helped in secondary school lessons with oral expression and grammar and have also worked in a Spanish primary school during my studies, helping Spanish students (aged 4-5) with their native language. Last year, I studied in a university in Madrid which really improved my own Spanish skills.
I believe that, in the UK, not enough time is spent on oral expression in language classes, and this is potentially the most important skill of learning a new language. By participating in regular speaking sessions in the target language, confidence will grow and the student will be able to express him/herself in a better manner.
Please cancel any lessons at least 24 hours prior. Otherwise, the lesson fee will still be applicable.
