About Alfreda
I believe that everyone can excel in any subject with the proper learning method and consistency. I understand that some subjects may be very difficult and daunting especially maths. However, I believe that the key to succeeding in a task that you struggle in, is to trust that you are capable of achieving it. I strive to build this confidence in students.
There have been many times where I have tutored students who have hated maths but within a few lessons claim to think that maths is actually fun! That's what I find to be true progress and every single person is capable of it, including you!

My techniques and methodology is to go slow until we find what works for each individual student, so that they enjoy what they learn.
Some examples might be watching videos of difficult topics, drawing diagrams, explaining in detail each step of a question, practice questions, taking notes with step by step instructions for each type of maths problem, discussions, and even creating our own questions.
My qualifications are many years of maths classes as a psychology/premed BSc graduate and also current medical student. Most importantly I have many years of experience tutoring various subjects especially maths. I have helped students advance in maths levels and pass exams to get into advanced maths classes at their schools, while also growing a love for the subject.
I teach ages 5-15 which includes basic mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry.
Typical length of lessons can be around 45 mins to 1 hour.
