About Emily
I am a third year student studying Chemistry at University. I am passionate about science and would love to be able to pass my passion and subject knowledge on to younger pupils. I want to help pupils who are struggling to understand certain concepts by going through them on a 1 to 1 basis, which I think is the most effective way to learn something that you are struggling with. Having completed my A levels and GCSEs relatively recently I feel that I am in a good position to be able to relate to the pupils and share what helped me in their position.

I would plan a lesson using the subject curriculum to. prepare a powerpoint to go through and lots of questions to ask the student. I would then find some example exam questions on this topic and go through them with the student. This would challenge the student and encourage them to test their knowledge. Following this I would then go through the mark scheme with them so they can see how their answer compares to what examiners are looking for. A typical lesson would be 1 hour but I am happy to do longer if necessary. I have previous experience tutoring maths to high school aged pupils. My lessons would be for GCSE to A level aged pupils.
