About ELEANOR
Right now, I'm reading The Giver and honestly, it's one of the most thought-provoking books I've ever picked up. At first, it seems like the community in the story is perfect—no war, no pain, everyone seems content. But the more I read, the more I realize how much freedom and emotion they’ve actually sacrificed to get that so-called “utopia.”
The main character, Jonas, is chosen to be the Receiver of Memory, which means he starts to see the world for what it really is—including all the beauty and pain that have been hidden from everyone else. What really hit me is when he starts experiencing real emotions, like love and sadness, and how he starts questioning everything he was taught. It made me think about how our own society deals with tough topics—do we sometimes hide from pain rather than face it?
