About João
I am an amateur dancer since 2015 and have teached forró and ballroom dancing since 2018. I have experience in several classes formats, including private lessons, group classes and classes for events, attending a plurality of different students. I am in constant development, often practicing and seeking to improve myself to offer the best and most current teaching methods and content to the student.

My classes are organized based on practice and with a theoretical complement, that is, it is a class that seeks to encourage the practice of forró but without losing theoretical support for students who are also interested. The classes are well structured and organized by themes that I consider interesting and ideal for students, and I approach in the classes, in addition to traditional steps, very important issues for dancing at the ball, such as spatial notion, techniques, musicality etc. The classes aim to be dynamic and stimulating classes so that the student does not feel frustrated with a slow development.

Perfect! I took one forro class with Joao. Since I was passing through Brazil as a foreigner, I really appreciated that Joao could speak english and I could specific questions about the dance. I was an absolute beginner and he explained differences in techniques and styles and even showed me examples with his dance partner. I would recommend Joao to anyone who wants to learn forro.

João é um excelente professor.
Possui muita preocupação em saber se o aluno está aprendendo corretamente, adaptando sua aula para diferentes níveis de conhecimento.
Ele tem um repertório de passos muito grandes. Já presenciei várias aulas de turma com eles, e ele sempre passou movimentos distintos.
Possui bastante foco na base, elemento muito importante no aprendizado do forró.João é um excelente professor de forró e de musicalidade, diria que um dos melhores que eu conheço. É extremamente atencioso, desmembra bem os passos e possui um excelente repertório nos estilos universitário e roots.
Conheci o João em 2017, num projeto que oferecia aulas gratuitas de forró na cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Profissional dedicado, detalhista e interessado. Não se acomoda e procura orientar o aluno dentro de suas possibilidades, limitações e evolução. De "bônus" o aluno recebe preciosas orientações na área musical, uma vez que João é músico formado.

Details
The hour-price is standardized by a default hour-lesson, but I value the class above the hour stamp, so it is possible that some lessons passes the 1h mark, and in this case I do not charge extra (I charge one hour-lesson) in the case the lessons are between 1h and 1h20.
