About Alex

I have a Primary PGCE and Drama degree where I have been giving lessons since I was 16 years old to a 4-year-old, where I helped them discover how to play a basic rock four beat! The age range that I tutor and teach differs from 4 years old all the way to 70+, as I believe passion for playing is what is key to unlocking all the other techniques and skills that the professional drummers tend to use in their own work.

About the lesson

I have a get-up-and-go attitude to playing the drums, where freedom to play the kit is paramount to learning. Within that freedom, I help students explore additional techniques to help provide a whole range of different ways to experiment with creativity and for my students to express themselves.

Good solid four to the floor established in the first lesson. Really enjoyed teaching a bit of drummer history and stick grip technique including the feel of specific sticking patterns.

My son is autistic /adhd - Alex has demonstrated patience / reliability and constant support..
Alex in his own time has researched ways to support my son .. to keep him moving forward .. with out putting too much pressure on.
As a parent of child with special needs this has really stood out.
Alex uses a wide range of music/styles ..which keeps the lessons very interesting..
There is definitely a fun factor attached to each lesson
Alex’s whole mannerism and patience has been a real breath of fresh air ..I couldn’t recommend him more highly
