About Deborah

- What kind of experience do you have? 20 years of experience from teaching Primary, being a headteacher for 10 years in three different schools. Teaching young offenders up to 18 years and also lecturing 16 - 18 year olds functional skills and GCSE in Maths in a local college. Also, teaching in an EBD school age 10-16. Being a SENCO and making strategic decisions. I also have experience writing material for a software company for dyslexia, dyscalculia, and children on the autistic spectrum. I also have taught GCSE Maths at an FE College. I am now offering a new service, and will travel to tutor for blocks of time, especially if it is holiday breaks, anywhere in the UK. I would also consider short blocks abroad. Please email me if you require this service. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes. I have a current DBS. - Where and with whom did you train? UWE, Bristol University and Exeter University. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? NAHT. IFL and registered with GTC. - Tell me about some of your current students. I have been tutoring for over 5 years. Some of my students have complex needs and I have supported the parents in getting them the support required, so they can make good progress and receive the correct provision. Often, I have written educational assessments to support the statementing process. All my students gain confidence, learn and make good progress; some moving as much as 1 level within a six month period. I have also had a good pass rate with GCSE Maths and English. My students enjoy me coming and they say it is fun. Please read their comments. We work in a multi-sensory way. Working with the schools gives the child more chance of success, as we can work in tandem. This year all of my GCSE students have achieved their grades, which they were working towards. Achieved 2016 100 per cent pass rate.
