About Ruby
With 5 years of teaching and performing experience, I am a passionate violin tutor dedicated to helping students grow as technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams. One of the highlights of my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, bowing, or finger placement to confident performers capable of expressing themselves with technical skill, emotion, and musicality.
My lessons focus on developing strong technical foundations while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and emotional expression. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to help students gain a complete understanding of music. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and grow. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, nurture talent, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology rooted in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to help students become technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, abilities, and learning style, combining structured practice, improvisation, creative projects, and performance preparation.
Motivation is central to my approach. I guide students in setting short-term and long-term goals, tracking progress, and celebrating every milestone. This builds self-confidence, perseverance, and a passion for continuous improvement. Students learn to enjoy the process as much as the results, embracing challenges with enthusiasm.
Communication ensures a collaborative and interactive environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions, discuss challenges, and explore ideas openly, fostering a trusting relationship that enhances learning.
Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure long-term growth and sustainable excellence.
In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a complete musical foundation. This methodology develops technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.
